The Overview of CP Activities

Since the introduction of CP in 2008, Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical Corporation has been constantly striving to prevent unfair trade practices and unethical behaviors. After the creation of the CP Department in 2014, the CP Committee was established in 2015 to discuss major CP-related issues and to make policy decisions.  A voluntary compliance declaration ceremony for all executives and employees has been held at the beginning of every year since 2016. A firm commitment to eradicating  unfair trade practices is made at the ceremony at all levels—from CEO to upper and middle management to general employees—by signing the Business Ethics Pledge,  and additionally the Jeong-Do Business Pledge by sales & marketing employees. Through active monitoring, online/offline CP and anti-corruption training programmes, we work diligently to prevent violations of the law. Also, we make every effort to spread and establish our CP culture by asking CP-related questions in tests and examinations used in recruitment, selection and promotion and by evaluating compliance-competence and awareness of all executives and employees. We take strong measures in dealing with non-compliant executives and employees. In the case of CP violation,  writing an letter of apology is asked, or a warning letter is issued. When the matter is serious, it is reflected in employee performance evaluation. In order to prevent various occurrences of employees' unethical conduct, a whistleblowing system is operated.

As a result of these efforts, Chong Kun Dang obtained the "AA" rating in the CP rating evaluation organized by the Fair Trade Commission four times in a row in 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2022. After ISO 37001 certification in 2018, all executives and employees are paying attention to preventing corruption through the renewal in 2021. Furthermore, ISO 37301 certification was additionally obtained in 2022 to systematize compliance and ethical management. In addition, in 2017 and 2019, autonomous compliance managers and compliance supporters each won the Presidential Award and the Fair Trade Commission Award in recognition of their contributions to the settlement of fair trade.

Chong Kun Dang operates a compliance programme tailored to the global standard through Due Diligence and CP Audit for cooperation with numerous global partners,  and discloses the details of our activities through the disclosure of our Compliance Program twice a year.
